Fantasy Character Faces

Just four quick sketches of fantasy characters. I drew what came to mind off the top of my head, none of these characters have names or backstories (yet!). I try to force myself to push out of my comfort zone with my art, but sometimes I like to just sketch for fun, which for me means just scribbling some busts.

In the future, I can definitely see myself revisiting each of these characters and drawing them full body, tweaking a few details, and fleshing them out.

1. Orc Male
Of course I started with a bald, buff warrior, as that's usually my go-to. I see this guy using a giant battle-axe. I considered giving him a braid, but decided to stick with a smooth head. His neck might look ridiculously thick, but a lot of comic artists I like (Todd McFarlane with Venom for example) draw thick necks on buff characters.
2. Orc Female
At first I wanted to show the orc woman with a baby, but changed my mind. You will notice that I didn't make my orcs look "evil", that's because I would rather orcs have free will than be servants of evil.
3. Half-elf, Half-gnome
Just a little angry wizard guy.
4. Dragon-man
Not my best dragon, but I just kept this sketch moving without too much erasing. I think this dragon-man looks a bit too human and not reptilian enough.
